Top five 8 Best Non-Bar Place to Purchase Liquor
Every business that has a license to sell or distribute alcoholic beverages must display a sign at every exit. The sign should state the following: "It is against the law to carry an open container of alcohol on the sidewalks or streets of Key West." However, it's puzzling to see countless tourists walking around Duval Street with beer and liquor in their hands, day, and night. It raises the question: why is this happening? Nevertheless, the saying "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" seems to apply here. So, if you're allowed, by police non-intervention, to walk and drink on the streets of Key West, why spend extra money on buying a beer, wine, liquor at a bar? Just step into one of the covenant stores to make your purchase and save a significant amount of money.

KWEST Liquors (705 Duval St.)
Very nice small package liquor store, don’t expect discount prices, but they have a relatively nice selection, well displayed and it’s a lot less expensive than purchasing a drink at a bar on Duval St.
Lost Weekend Liquor Store (427 Caroline St)
Right next to the Whistle Bar on Duval St. This is a very small, packaged liquor store, but they have you covered. A selection of well-known Vodkas, Rums, Beer and Wines. Ok, you not going to find any French First Growths. But you will find enough to get your “Buzz on Duval!
CVS or Walgreens (Both on Duval St.)
Just your normal fast convent corner pharmacy’s. They have everything you need like candy, snacks, flip-flops, lipstick, razors, tampons, milk, beer, wine – everything except liquor.
Publix or Winn-Dixie Liquors (Both of Roosevelt Blvd)
Both stores are what you would see in towns across America a large packaged liquored store that has almost everything including Johnnie Walker Blue Label Scotch. FYI a tip for all you scotch drinkers. Royal Lochnagar is used for the base mix in Blue. It’s my favorite and for around the same price you can get a 17 year-old 175th Anniversary Edition that is much better than Blue. Smart money is Purple Label!
Key West Fine Wines (700 Eaton St.)
My type of place! Very knowledgeable staff with a very nice selection of high-end wines. Perfect place to purchase wines to bring back to your hotel room. My suggestion would be Chateau d’ Yquem 2018 Half Bottle sells for $349.99 – worth every drop!
Fausto’s Food Place (522 Fleming St.)
Fausto’s boasts a large and diverse selection of wines stocked with popular and more distinctive wines you just won’t find at big box stores. They also carry beer, but no liquor. The also carry some very good Prime Natural Raised Ribeye $teaks.
